WOYWW #196 ...or what´s on your daughter´s (former) bed Tuesday evening

And as if that were not enough, I made a (double)spread to my old art journal book. The text is from my favourite Traveling Wilburys´ song ´Handle with care´.

Not the work desk... there´s also a Stockholm map I´ve used to ATCs, and an altered tin box/small suitcase where I keep my brads etc.

WOYWW 150 - experiments

Hi all! Last week I was (again) in Stockholm... On 1. March my hubby had his 50th anniversary, and we made a "day-in-Stockholm-cruising" and the Viking Line company gave him a new cruising ticket as a birthday gift. Now we used that ticket. There were Cuba weeks on board and they had a Cuba quiz... I told my hubby, that it´s no use to go there, ´cause we don´t know much about Cuba. But he wanted to go anyway! There was three people who had all the answers right - and they got some chocolate. And last, among all of the participants, were picked one coupon - and my DH won again a new cruising ticket! :D

But my working desk... it´s again our bedroom floor, ´cause I was playing with colour sprays. I made some backgrounds for my art journal and made experiments with hair spray as a fixative. Waiting to get outdoors!!! I have also worked with my AB, which is on the right side...

For some reason I can´t see this week´s WOYWW on Julia´s Stamping Ground, but hope it´s coming soon...

Hei kaikki! Viime viikolla oltiin (taas) Tukholmassa... Maaliskuun 1. oli miehen viiskymppiset ja silloin tehtiin "päivä-Tukholmassa-risteily" ja Viking Line antoi hänelle lahjaksi uuden risteilylipun. Se käytettiin nyt. Laivalla oli menossa Kuubaviikot ja siellä oli Kuuba-aiheinen visailu... Sanoin, ettei ole mitään järkeä osallistua, kun ei tiedetä Kuubasta paljoakaan. Mutta mies halusi mennä joka tapauksessa! Kolmella osallistujalla oli kaikki vastaukset oikein - ja saivat suklaata. Lopuksi kaikista osallistuneista kupongeista poimittiin vielä yksi - ja mies voitti taas uuden risteilylipun! :D

Mutta se työpöytä... tai oikeastaan taas makkarin lattia, kun leikin noilla värisuihkeilla. Tein joitain taustoja art journaliin ja kokeiluja hiuslakasta fiksatiivina. Odotan, että pääsen ulkoilmaan!!! Olen myös työstänyt altsukirjaani, tuossa oikealla...

WOYWW 148 - new toys

I bought some glitter paints of Tattered Angels. I´m not very fond of glittering things, but these are kind of sophisticated - not TOO glittering! Now I´m trying to learn how to use them.

Tässä mun uudet lelut! Kimallemaaleja, jotka ei ole liian kimaltelevia... vielä kun oppisi käyttämään niitä :)

Here are two backgrounds to my art journal - or one spread. As you can see, not so glittering... I wiped it over with Ranger´s Color Wash :) but then I added a puff of Perfect Pearls Mist. So, the result was, that I covered my new colours with the old ones!
I used a kind of candle resist method around the stamps. I also made an ATC background using a bit more candle wax.
If you are wondering, why there´s so much space in my desk, I must tell you, that in fact this is our bedroom floor!

Pari sivua art journaliin ja ATC tausta. Onnistuin sitten peittämään uudet värini vanhoilla. Ja jos ihmettelette, miten mun työpöydällä on näin hyvää tilaa, niin täytyy kertoa, että itse asiassa tämä on meidän makkarin lattia!

WOYWW 147

Last wednesday I was in Stockholm - again - but why not! It´s a lovely city! My younger daughter got a free ticket for two persons, and needed company.
Yesterday I was working with my AB and making homeworks Elizabeth gave us.(Thank God the pics in her blog came back!!!) I´m going to make a better posting about my book...

In my previous posting you see some muses I made for the book... well, they are working well :) I have not been able to sew over a year, but now something happened and my sewing-mojo is back! I only don´t know what I have done :D Maybe these are some kind of "primitive art dolls". Maybe I have to tell more also about this projet later...

WOYWW 145 - kind of muses...

What happened to Tuesday? I thought today is Tuesday, but the newspaper claimed other... okey, yesterday we had heavy wind with snow and hail showers. Maybe I wanted to forget it!
But now is Wednesday and on Stamping Ground Julia is hosting What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 145 challenge.
On my desk are three little fellows... I need something winged to the niche of my altered book (scroll downwards) and I´ve been making these, kind of muses. Well, the first one became a little bit too spooky, so I made an other one - and now I´m working with the third... :)

Mitäs tapahtui tiistaille? Luulin, että se on tänään, mutta lehti väitti ihan toista... no, ehkä halusin unohtaa eilisen tuulen ja lumi- ja raekuurot!

WOYWW 140 - and a couple of winter pics

Hello all WOYWWers! I´m desperately working with my journal pages, but I´m not satisfied with them... Kind of lost the idea! At least I have to change my technique - now I´m only ruining my pens!!!

Epätoivoista hommaa näiden sivujen kanssa... Ikään kuin ajatus kadonnut! Ainakin täytyy vaihtaa tekniikkaa - nyt mä vain tuhoan kynäni!!!

We had two warmer days on monday and tuesday, but now it´s getting colder again. Anyway it´s beautiful!

Parin lämpimämmän päivän jälkeen kylmenee taas. Ainakin on kaunista!

Already February! Time goes all the time faster and faster! Last two weeks have gone with such a speed... my art journal is waiting for new pages.
But I have something here: kind of puzzle parts for playing. I put them also in to my computer and have played with Photoshop, making figures and combinations.

Helmikuu! Aika menee koko ajan nopeammin ja nopeammin! Kaksi viime viikkoa on mennyt sellaista vauhtia... art journalkin odottelee uusia sivuja.
Mutta on täällä sentään jotain: eräänlaisia palapelin paloja. Laitoin ne myös tietokoneelle ja olen leikkinyt Photoshopilla yhdistellen erilaisia hahmoja ja kokonaisuuksia.

WOYWW 138 - greetings from Stockholm / Terveisiä Tukholmasta

Have not been much at home, so there´s not much going on on my desk. But here are some treasures from last weekend´s trip to Stockholm. Some of them I bought already from Sinelli at Helsinki. I have been seeking those moulds, and now they were on sale at Kreatima!
But now I have to leave to an appointment...

En ole paljon ollut kotosalla, joten ei pöydälläni ole paljoa tapahtunutkaan. Tässä kuitenkin vähän aarteita viikonlopun Tukholman reissulta. Joitain niistä ostin jo Sinellistä, Helsingistä. Noita muotteja olen pitkään etsiskellyt, ja nyt ne olivat Kreatiman alennusmyynnissä!
Nyt täytyykin taas lähteä tapaamiseen...

My workdesk as full of stuff as usual... I just got my art journal pages finished, and everything I needed is still on my table - well, don´t believe my excuse - it looks always like that :D
Now I´m covering the lids of glass jars with gesso and printed pics. Then a bit of Distress ink and decoupage lacquer to make the final touch.

Työpöytä yhtä täynnä kaikkea kamaa kuin tavallisesti... Lopettelin juuri art journal sivuja, ja kaikki tavarat ovat vielä tuossa - no älkää uskoko - aina se tuolta näyttää :D
Nyt päällystän lasipurkkien kansia gessolla ja printtikuvilla. Sitten pikkaisen Distress inkiä ja decoupage lakkaa päälle loppusilaukseksi.

I´m also telling about unexplained noises that have been reported across the globe, as well as increased amounts of UFO reports.

WOYWW 135 - The first one in 2012!

So is the new year started! First of all I´ll show you the next spread (not quite finished yet...) of my art journal.
There I´m telling what Kryon (channelled by Lee Carroll) tells about the year 2012 and the climate warming. I´m also telling about the dead blackbirds that fell from the sky in Arkansas, and dead herrings washed ashore in Norway.
And also, that now we finally got some snow...

Niin on uusi vuosi alkanut! Aivan ensimmäiseksi näytän uuden aukeaman (ei aivan valmis vielä...) art journal-kirjastani.

On my working desk is the next spread of that art journal in preparation... And you can also see a pile of ATCs waiting for - something...

So, now it´s over - Christmas! Back to the normal, which means that my desk is as messy as usual :)

Joulu ohi ja paluu normaaliin, eli työpöytä sekaisin :)

But how was the Christmas... first the pic of Olivia from a Christmas card we got.

Mutta se joulu... ensinnäkin kuva Oliviasta saamastamme joulukortista.

The Christmas was quite unusual! We still don´t have any snow here in southern Finland. Christmas Eve morning was frosty, but turned to warmer during the day. Here are some pics from a.m. - It also was the calm before the storm... We had an unusually strong storm on Boxing Day. Trees crashed and many people are still without electricity.
But on Christmas Eve morning it looked like this:

We also had a Green Christmas inside the house! ´cause we already have a tree inside, we only put lights and decorations on our yucca palm :) Here are also some enlightened Buddhas:

WOYWW 133

Hello again! And again I´m starting a new project... this time it will last a whole year. You can see a pile of empty pages on the corner of my desk. They will turn to four little art journal books called "Countdown to the end of the time". That´s because of the Mayan calendar. My art journal starts at this winter solstice and continues to the next winter solstice on 21. December 2012, when the Mayan calendar ends, and the new world era will begin...
The pages are rather thick, Canson´s 300g/m2 water colour paper, so they will withstand heavy handling.
Despite the title, the book will be in Finnish. Sorry, but it´s easier to me ;)

No niin... taas alkaa uusi projekti, joka kestää koko vuoden. Pöydän reunalla on nyt pino tyhjiä sivuja, joista on tulossa neljä pientä "art journal" kirjaa nimeltään "Countdown to the end of the time". Nimi juontuu Maya kalenterista. Kirja alkaa nyt tästä talvipäivän seisauksesta ja jatkuu seuraavaan talvipäivän sisaukseen 21. joulukuuta 2012, jolloin siis loppuu Mayojen kalenteri ja uuden maailmankauden pitäisi alkaa...
Sivut ovat aika paksuja, Cansonin 300g/m2 akvarellipaperia, joten kestävät kovempaakin käsittelyä.
Nimestä huolimatta kirja tulee olemaan suomeksi - ainakin pääosin ;)

Also decoration continues. Last week you saw my "new" sideboard, standing in the middle of our living area, and being far too large to fit there...
So we changed our sofa to a smaller one. Now the sideboard can stand by the wall. We are surprised to find an empty space on the corner!!!

Ja sisustaminen jatkuu. Viime viikolla näitte "uuden" senkin keskellä meidän olohuonetta, ollen aivan liian suuri mahtuakseen siihen...
Niinpä vaihdoimme sohvamme pienempään. Nyt saimme senkin seinän viereen. Olemme kyllä hämmästyneitä tyhjästä nurkasta!!!

As you can see there are - besides my little jungle - a lot of stuff! We are collecting almost everything :)

Kuten näette, tavaraa riittää - pienen viidakkoni lisäksi! Meillä kerätään lähes kaikkea :)

WOYWW 132 - Miracle

Sorry, that I did not visit your blogs last week - I´ve been very busy!

But now I have the Christmas cards made and I have to post them today. I then didn´t use those white Christmas trees you saw last week...

Olipas kiireinen viikko, mutta nyt on joulukortit valmiina, ja tänään ne pitäisi saada postiin. En sitten käyttänytkään niitä valkoisia joulukuusia, jotka näitte viime viikolla...

But here is the Miracle of the week! Not the sideboard itself, but the fact that it´s in our house!
I have now sold my mother´s apartment and now I have to empty it. This is what I definitely wanted to keep! We brought it to here last saturday. I knew it is heavy, but I couldn´t imagine how heavy - it is HEAVY!!! Me and my hubby bore it one floor downstairs from my mum´s apartment and I was about to faint in the middle of the stairs. The next day every part of my body was aching! I can´t believe it´s here now!

Tässä viikon Ihme! Ei senkki sinänsä, mutta se, että se on meillä!
Äitini asunto on myyty ja se pitäisi nyt saada tyhjäksi. Tämän halusin ehdottomasti pitää! Toimme sen tänne viime lauantaina. Tiesin sen olevan painava, mutten osannut kuvitella miten painava - se on PAINAVA!!! Minä ja mieheni kannettiin se äitini asunnosta portaita kerros alaspäin ja meinasin pyörtyä puolivälissä. Seuraavana päivänä särki joka paikkaa! Vaikea uskoa, että se on nyt täällä!

WOYWW 131

Last week my web connection didn´t work. Look the posting below if you want to know what I did then.
Today seems to be Who´s Outside Your Window Wednesday; Our balcony is (should be) on the corner of our bedroom and my working room. At 7.30 there was a man with drill and woke me up! The balcony (there´s nothing but the floor) has been covered with some kind of plastic blanket, but now something happens there at last.

My desk... I should be making Christmas cards, but have no ideas...!

WOYWW 129 - laminating

I borrowed a laminator from my son-in-law. Now my new rubber stamps, which I ez-mounted last week, have also nice storage mounts. Here you can also see ´Alice in Wonderland´ stamp set, which I bought from a net-fleemarket.
And a couple of ATCs made with Lost Coast´s stamps. A closer look at Frida can be made here!

Lainasin vävypojalta laminointilaitteen ja nyt viime viikolla ez-mountatuilla leimasimilla on kivat säilytysalustatkin. Tässä näkyy myös nettikirppikseltä ostamani ´Liisa Ihmemaassa´ leimasetti.

Last saturday I visited the Arts & Crafts Fair in Helsinki. Also Linda from Lost Coast Desing was there - so now I have a large amount of new rubber stamps which I have been ez-mounting :) I really love them!
