HAIRSPRAYING - hiuslakkailua

My hairspray technique caused so much interest, that here you have a bit better declaration about it.
I really don´t know how good a fixative the hairpray is... it may cause changes in the colours! And if the fixative is harmful to breathe, so is the hairspray. You´ll need a good ventilation!
I have used the cheapest hairspray I found from the market. And it seems to work (this way) best with Adirondack Color Wash - although I have not tried other colour sprays... The paper I´ve used is Canson´s "Montval tradition" 300g/m2 aquarelle paper.
First I covered the page with gesso - not completely to the edges, as you can see in the variations of colour. Then I sprayed the Color Wash and when it still was wet, I sprayed the hairspray on it - on the areas I wanted to be permanent. There are also small spatters of Tattered Angels´ Glimmer Glaze "Saffron". Then I dried it with heat gun... be careful, it boils easy... ;) Or does it matter - only new effects :D
After that I have sprayed a bit water on the edges and carefully wiped it with foam or kitchen towel... or with something else. Now you can add new colours to the edges. Distress Inks maybe.
So, this is the technique. Try other colours. Have fun!


Hiuslakkatekniikka herätti sen verran kiinnostusta, että tässä nyt tarkempi selostus siitä.
En tosiaankaan tiedä, miten hyvä hiuslakka on kiinnitysaineeksi... se saattaa muuttaa värejä! Ja jos fiksatiivi on haitallista hengittää, niin samoin on hiuslakka. Huolehdi tuuletuksesta!
Olen käyttänyt halvinta hiuslakkaa, mitä kaupasta löytyi. Parhaiten se tuntuu toimivan (tällä tavalla) Adirondakin Color Washin kanssa - tosin en ole kokeillut muita värisumutteita... käyttämäni paperi on Cansonin "Montval tradition" 300g/m2 akvarellipaperi.
Ensin päällystin paperin gessolla - en ihan tarkasti reunoja myöten, kuten värivaihteluista näkyy. Sitten suihkutin Color Washia, ja kun se oli vielä märkää, suihkutin hiuslakkaa päälle niille alueille, jotka halusin säilyvän. Joukossa on myös joitain roiskeita Tattered Angelsin Glimmer Glaze "Saffron" maalia. Sitten kuivatin kuumailmapuhaltimella... olkaa varovaisia, se kiehuu helposti... ;) Tai mitä väliä, tulee uusia efektejä :D Sitten suihkutin hiukkasen vettä reunoille ja pyyhin varovaisesti vaahtomuovilla, talouspaperilla... tai jollain muulla. Nyt voit lisätä reunoille muita värejä. Vaikkapa Distress Inkiä.
